उन्होंने बताया कि घेराबंदी को मजबूत करने के लिए इलाके में अतिरिक्त बल भेजा गया है. पिछले 24 घंटों में डोडा में यह दूसरी आतंकवाद संबंधी घटना है और जम्मू-कश्मीर में तीन दिनों में चौथी घटना है. इससे पहले 11 जून की शाम को चत्तरगल्ला दर्रे में हुए आतंकवादी हमले में राष्ट्रीय राइफल्स के पांच जवान और एक विशेष पुलिस अधिकारी घायल हो गए थे.

वहीं, 11 जून की देर रात एक अन्य घटना में कठुआ जिले में सुरक्षा बलों ने एक संदिग्ध पाकिस्तानी आतंकवादी को मार गिराया. 12 जून को एक दूसरे आतंकवादी को भी मार गिराने के बाद रात भर चली मुठभेड़ समाप्त हो गई, लेकिन इस अभियान में सीआरपीएफ का एक जवान शहीद हो गया.
9 जून को आतंकवादियों ने तीर्थयात्रियों को ले जा रही एक बस पर हमला किया, जिससे वह सड़क से उतरकर रियासी में गहरी खाई में गिर गई, जिसमें नौ लोगों की मौत हो गई और 41 घायल हो गए. रियासी जिले में यात्री बस पर हुए आतंकी हमले के मामले में जम्मू कश्मीर पुलिस ने घटना में शामिल एक आतंकवादी का स्केच जारी किया और उसके बारे में सूचना देने वाले को 20 लाख रुपये का इनाम देने की घोषणा की.
