Sikar’s Udyog Nagar police station has achieved a major success. The police have arrested an accused who defrauded ₹9.7 million under the pretext of securing an MBBS admission. Currently, the police are interrogating the accused. The accused has committed similar crimes in Sikar, Churu, and Jhunjhunu.

On January 25, 2024, Nanuram, a resident of Piprali Road, filed a report stating that in February 2023, through an acquaintance, he met Pramod aka Rohit Soni, a resident of Churu. Pramod claimed that he owned Geetanjali Medical College in Udaipur, where he arranged MBBS courses for students.

When Nanuram discussed his son’s admission, the accused demanded ₹8 million for one admission and ₹10 million for two admissions simultaneously. Consequently, Nanuram took out personal and property loans and gave ₹9.7 million to Pramod. However, Pramod neither returned the money nor secured the admission.

After the incident, the accused Pramod was absconding. The police, through technical and human sources, apprehended Pramod Soni aka Rohit Soni (27) in an urban area of Churu. The accused was living in a rented room. He had previously defrauded several people by promising government jobs, MBBS admissions, and doubling money through betting. Cases are registered against him in various police stations in Sikar, Churu, and other locations.

According to Udyog Nagar police, the accused rented expensive cars and used them to meet the victims, thereby deceiving them. The accused is educated only up to the 12th grade. After the fraud, he used the money for luxury and betting. The arrest was made possible through the efforts of Udyog Nagar police station officer Surendra Degra, sub-inspector Rameshchandra Meena, ASI Birbalsingh, head constable Santkumar, and constables Mamaraj and Vikas.
