Constitution Being Insulted at Rajasthan University: ‘Constitution’ Incorrectly Inscribed on Constitution Pillar; Inaugurated by the Governor on June 19
At Rajasthan’s largest Rajasthan University, the newly inaugurated Constitution Park is being ridiculed just four days after its opening. This is because the university administration has engraved the wrong text of the Constitution on the Constitution Pillar. Following this, student leaders have now raised their voices against the university administration.
In fact, the Constitution Park was constructed at Rajasthan University at a cost of 3 crore rupees. The park was inaugurated on June 19 by Governor Kalraj Mishra. The Constitution Pillar in the park is inscribed with the 22 parts of the Constitution. However, a major error has come to light.
The Constitution Pillar mentions the “Official Language of the Union of States” in Part 17 (Articles 343-351). Part 18 (Articles 352-360) includes provisions for emergencies. However, the University’s Constitution Park mistakenly lists the emergency provisions under Part 17. This has sparked protests among Rajasthan University students.
Student leader Shubham Rewad stated that by inscribing incorrect facts, the university administration has not only insulted the Constitution but also played with the sentiments of millions of citizens. Therefore, strict action should be taken against the university administration. Rewad also mentioned that the Governor was made to inaugurate a flawed Constitution Park, and proper scrutiny should have been done before the inauguration. He questioned the haste of the university administration that led to such a significant error being overlooked by the Governor. This mistake should be corrected as soon as possible.
It should be noted that on June 19, Governor Kalraj Mishra inaugurated the Constitution Park at Rajasthan University, which was built at a cost of 3 crore rupees. During the inauguration, Higher Education Minister Dr. Prem Barwa and Rajasthan University Vice-Chancellor Professor Alpana Kateja were also present. However, no representative or student noticed the mistake at that time. The controversy over the error in the construction of the Constitution Park started four days after the inauguration.
