Two Ministers from Jodhpur in Central Government: Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and Ashwini Vaishnaw Took Oath; Celebrations Among Party Workers
Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and Ashwini Vaishnav are set to become ministers from Jodhpur. Both took the oath of office in an event held in Delhi on Sunday evening. Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, who has secured victory from the Jodhpur Lok Sabha seat for the third time, is set to become a minister in the central government for the third time.

Shekhawat has won the Jodhpur seat for the third consecutive time. He defeated Congress candidate Chandresh Kumari by 410,000 votes in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Congress candidate Vaibhav Gehlot by 374,000 votes in 2019, and Congress candidate Karansingh Uchiyarda by 114,000 votes in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. In 2017, Shekhawat was appointed as the Minister of State for Agriculture in Modi’s cabinet. In 2019, he was given the responsibility of the Ministry of Jal Shakti and was made a Cabinet Minister.

Vaishnav Resigned from IAS Job
Ashwini Vaishnav became an IAS officer in the year 1994. However, in 2010, Vaishnav resigned from his IAS job after just sixteen years of service. During Narendra Modi’s tenure as the Chief Minister of Gujarat, Vaishnav met him and subsequently joined the BJP. In 2019, he became a Rajya Sabha member.
