The culmination of the “Collage of Kilkari 2024” event took place at Ravindra Manch, showcasing the art and skills learned during the summer camp in a creative manner. The event featured various performances and displays by the participants, demonstrating their talents honed during the camp. Notably, the renowned actor Rakesh Bedi was present at the event, adding to its significance and success.
The 17th Children’s Theater Workshop “Collage of Laughter,” organized by Curio Children’s Theater, concluded on Sunday at Ravindra Manch.
The event was supported by the Department of Art and Culture, Rajasthan Lalit Kala Academy, Ravindra Manch, the Drama Department, and Himalayan University, Uttarakhand.
The culmination ceremony began with an outdoor activity where children from the Ravindra Manch Center performed a street play on environmental conservation. Meanwhile, a puppet show against the dowry system was presented by children from the Central Academy Center. Children from the Sanskar School Center entertained the audience with stand-up comedy. They also performed a welcome song for parents and actor Rakesh Bedi, which delighted everyone. The program included yoga and mime acts.
Around 90 children participated in this creative workshop that spanned nearly a month across Ravindra Manch, Central Academy, and Sanskar School.
The first play by the Ravindra Manch Center was a horror-comedy. Titled “Bhooton Ki Dhamachaukdi,” it revolved around a small village where poor farmers struggled to make ends meet. The village’s landlord oppressed these farmers and extorted rent from them. The landlord’s two assistants helped him in this.
Fed up with the oppression, the villagers fed sweets to the landlord to celebrate the birth of a child, leading to his death. Rumors spread that the landlord’s ghost haunted a large tree in the field. The landlord’s ghost and his three assistant ghosts began troubling the villagers in various ways. The villagers eventually outwitted the ghost, leading to peace and happiness. The group leaders for this play were Abhishek Jhangal, Ashish Mishra, and Shabana Zafar Khan.
Bollywood actor Rakesh Bedi graced the event.
The Sanskar School Center presented the play “Mehnat Ka Itr” (The Perfume of Hard Work). It aimed to inspire people to work hard. It depicted how most people desire to avoid work and find ways to gain everything necessary for daily life without effort. If a few people think this way, it might not be an issue, but if the entire society, including the ruler, adopts this mindset, it leads to destruction. The play, through the character of a prince, emphasized the importance of hard work and effort. The group leaders for this play were Mahmood Ali, Pallavi Joshi, and Kamlesh Chaudhary.
The Central Academy Center staged the play “Akal Ka Jadoo” (The Magic of Wisdom). It taught that one should never underestimate a seemingly small person because intelligence is the greatest power. The story showed how a small rabbit’s home was destroyed by an elephant, and no animal came forward to help. The rabbit’s grandmother explained the power of wisdom through a story. The rabbit then accepted the elephant’s challenge, brought the moon to the ground, and taught the elephant a lesson. The group leaders were Dr. Kapil Sharma, Prerna Sharma, and Samarth Shandilya.
The program was hosted by Priyadarshini Mishra and Gagan Mishra and concluded with the national anthem “Jana Gana Mana” and a promise to meet again at Kilkari 2025. Parents and spectators appreciated the 17th Collage of Laughter.
